This allows Tesco to ensure that it only provides the finest quality foods to its customers by ensuring that fridges and freezers are maintained at the correct temperature.   The Kelsius system alerts the retailer to any temperature excursions, thus eliminating food waste that can occur due to fridge or freezer failure.   The agreement between Kelsius and Tesco will see the technology introduced across 112 Tesco stores.   Tesco has led the way amongst retailers in Ireland, in eliminating food waste and driving sustainable retailing. Kelsius’ technology ensures that no food is wasted and eliminates CO2 emissions from that waste.   Kelsius employs 82 people and manufactures specialist temperature monitoring equipment and software and provides global customer support from Falcarragh.   Kelsius CEO Karl Simmons said, *“Our collaboration with Tesco is an excellent fit for the Kelsius system. An operation of Tesco’s size requires a robust, scalable, user-friendly system that suits the needs of the business, and Kelsius provides this. Kelsius’ environmental values are also aligned with those of Tesco. We are delighted that we can help Tesco achieve its food waste reduction target. We congratulate Tesco on their achievements in this regard to date, and we look forward to continuing to work with them.”*   Commenting on the partnership, Tesco Central Compliance Manager John Byrne said, *“The Kelsius system provides Tesco not only with the peace of mind to have constant and reliable temperature monitoring, but also with the ability to ensure food quality and further reduce food waste. We are delighted to partner with them in using their technology and in a way which helps us to play our part in the community and for the benefit of our customers and the environment.”* [Facebook](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/guaranteed-irish-member-kelsius-to-help-tesco-ireland-reduce-food-waste) [Twitter](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/guaranteed-irish-member-kelsius-to-help-tesco-ireland-reduce-food-waste) [Email](mailto:?subject=Guaranteed%20Irish%20Member%20Kelsius%20to%20help%20Tesco%20Ireland%20reduce%20food%20waste&body=Irish%20technology%20company%20&%20Guaranteed%20Irish%20Member,%20Kelsius,%20based%20in%20Falcarragh,%20Co%20Donegal%20has%20signed%20a%20contract%20with%20Tesco%20Ireland%20to%20help%20the%20retailer%20ensure%20efficiencies%20across%20some%20of%20its%20cold%20storage.%20Kelsius’%20wireless%20temperature%20monitoring%20systems%20monitor%20the%20temperature%20of%20standalone%20fridges,%20freezers%2024%20hours%20a%20day.%20This%20allows%20Tesco%20to%20ensure%20that%20it%20only%20provides%20the%20finest%20quality%20foods%20to%20its%20customers%20by%20ensuring%20that%20fridges%20and%20freezers%20are%20maintained%20at%20the%20correct%20temperature.%20The%20Kelsius%20system%20alerts%20the%20retailer%20to%20any%20temperature%20excursions,%20thus%20eliminating%20food%20waste%20that%20can%20occur%20due%20to%20fridge%20or%20freezer%20failure.%20The%20agreement%20between%20Kelsius%20and%20Tesco%20will%20see%20the%20technology%20introduced%20across%20112%20Tesco%20stores.%20Tesco%20has%20led%20the%20way%20amongst%20retailers%20in%20Ireland,%20in%20eliminating%20food%20waste%20and%20driving%20sustainable%20retailing.%20Kelsius’%20technology%20ensures%20that%20no%20food%20is%20wasted%20and%20eliminates%20CO2%20emissions%20from%20that%20waste.%20Kelsius%20employs%2082%20people%20and%20manufactures%20specialist%20temperature%20monitoring%20equipment%20and%20software%20and%20provides%20global%20customer%20support%20from%20Falcarragh.%20Kelsius%20CEO%20Karl%20Simmons%20said,%20“Our%20collaboration%20with%20Tesco%20is%20an%20excellent%20fit%20for%20the%20Kelsius%20system.%20An%20operation%20of%20Tesco’s%20size%20requires%20a%20robust,%20scalable,%20user-friendly%20system%20that%20suits%20the%20needs%20of%20the%20business,%20and%20Kelsius%20provides%20this.%20Kelsius’%20environmental%20values%20are%20also%20aligned%20with%20those%20of%20Tesco.%20We%20are%20delighted%20that%20we%20can%20help%20Tesco%20achieve%20its%20food%20waste%20reduction%20target.%20We%20congratulate%20Tesco%20on%20their%20achievements%20in%20this%20regard%20to%20date,%20and%20we%20look%20forward%20to%20continuing%20to%20work%20with%20them.”%20Commenting%20on%20the%20partnership,%20Tesco%20Central%20Compliance%20Manager%20John%20Byrne%20said,%20“The%20Kelsius%20system%20provides%20Tesco%20not%20only%20with%20the%20peace%20of%20mind%20to%20have%20constant%20and%20reliable%20temperature%20monitoring,%20but%20also%20with%20the%20ability%20to%20ensure%20food%20quality%20and%20further%20reduce%20food%20waste.%20We%20are%20delighted%20to%20partner%20with%20them%20in%20using%20their%20technology%20and%20in%20a%20way%20which%20helps%20us%20to%20play%20our%20part%20in%20the%20community%20and%20for%20the%20benefit%20of%20our%20customers%20and%20the%20environment.”) [LinkedIn](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/guaranteed-irish-member-kelsius-to-help-tesco-ireland-reduce-food-waste) [Previous Article](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/guaranteed-irish-professional-services-members) [Next Article](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/guaranteed-irish-member-thorntons-recycling-unveils-new-100-electric-powered-waste-collection-vehicle) ### You might also enjoy [![October is Cybersecurity Month](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/hubfs/Paul-Rellis-Viatel.jpg)](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/cyber-security-month-viatel) ### [October is Cybersecurity Month](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/cyber-security-month-viatel) Introduction of Substantial Regulatory Changes 10 October 2024 [![Inventory Management Made Easy](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/hubfs/Blog%202%20-%20(600%20x%20600%20px)%5B19%5D.png)](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/turbo-inventory) ### [Inventory Management Made Easy](https://blog.guaranteedirish.ie/turbo-inventory) Inventory Management Made Easy: Find Out How!
