Guaranteed Irish House and the Supply Chain Sustainability School Announce Collaboration to Drive Sustainable Construction Awareness in Ireland

Guaranteed Irish House and the Supply Chain Sustainability School are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating sustainability awareness in the Irish construction sector. This collaboration brings together two industry-led initiatives committed to supporting local supply chains, promoting responsible building practices, and equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools necessary to help advance Ireland’s housing targets and ESG commitments.

Buildings in the EU are responsible for 40% of total energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions, much of which stems from construction, usage, renovation, and demolition. As such, the construction sector has a critical role to play in improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions. This collaboration supports that effort by helping to advance sustainable practices across the entire construction supply chain.

Guaranteed Irish House is a Guaranteed Irish initiative. It serves as Ireland’s national listing of construction sector businesses based in Ireland, offering architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and specifiers a trusted directory of all elements of the supply chain required for a building — from raw materials to final furnishings — all of which can be sourced locally from Guaranteed Irish members.

The Supply Chain Sustainability School is a free virtual learning platform dedicated to upskilling businesses in the built environment through access to high-quality sustainability training, resources, and industry events.

Through this collaboration, the two organisations will work together to provide access to trusted knowledge, practical learning opportunities, and promote Irish-based suppliers committed to sustainable and ethical practices.

Clémence Jamet, Head of Sustainability at Guaranteed Irish, commented:
“This collaboration strengthens our commitment to promoting local, sustainable, and responsible construction businesses. By working with the Supply Chain Sustainability School, we are enabling our members to build capacity in sustainability while reinforcing the importance of sourcing locally.”

Andrew Wilson, Programmes Manager at the Supply Chain Sustainability School Ireland, said:

“There’s no sustainability without the supply chain. That’s why we’re so excited to be teaming up with Guaranteed Irish House, to connect the dots between local sourcing and low-carbon construction. Together, we’re giving the Irish construction sector the tools and training it needs to build a more sustainable future, from the ground up.”

This partnership reflects a growing industry commitment to sustainability, transparency, and collaboration, values that are increasingly vital in today's construction landscape.
